Frequently Asked Questions

What happens after I apply?

After you apply, we will review your information and make a decision within two weeks. On an exception basis, we might need a phone or Zoom interview to further assess your candidacy. If you don’t hear from us within two weeks, feel free to contact us.

How are decisions made?

We review each application on a rolling basis until the day of the deadline. We have a limited capacity each year and we make offers on a first-come first-serve basis. Historically, our programs have been oversubscribed months in advance and with a healthy waitlist. Don't wait until the last minute to apply.

Does it help to be referred by a previous Ivy Fellow?

To truly even the playing field, we choose to follow a methodical and objective evaluation process. We ask everything that we need to know in our application form and we do not need additional external recommendations or referrals. External references do not influence our decisions at all. In fact, some of our best applicants are those who applied without referrals.

What do you look for in a candidate?

We look at both quantitative data and qualitative data. Our process is highly methodical, based on our decade long experience in helping hundreds of people land in the top MBA programs in the world. Test scores ARE important. But they are not everything. We take into account your life context and we look at your career trajectory so far.

How are coaches matched with a fellow?

Coaches are matched, based on the individual needs of the fellow. We take into account various data points, including industry expertise, undergraduate institution, geographical location, and availability.

Can I apply without having an official GMAT score?

You can apply to the program without an official GMAT or GRE score. When you apply make sure to mention the dates of your scheduled official exams and the score of your practice tests. Your application can be “ON HOLD” until you report your GMAT score. However, after a certain deadline (usually one month after the official deadline), we will no longer take test scores.

Does it matter if I take the GRE instead of the GMAT exam?

We accept both GRE and GMAT scores. If you are taking the GRE, make sure that your scores meet the equivalent of a 620 GMAT score, which is our minimum requirement. A 620 GMAT score is equivalent to a 318 total score on the GRE exam.
